 “Welcome Back to the 2006-2007

School Year”

Banquete Elementary Staff would like to welcome all our returning and new students to another exciting school year.  With all the things happening at our campus it is important that we inform parents/guardians of a few important items.

  1. Dress Code:  The dress code was mailed home to all returning students.  You can also find the rules for dress code in your Parent/Student handbook.  If you did not receive a copy of this book please contact the office and one will be sent to you.

  1. Tardies:  A student arriving after 8:00 am to class is tardy.  If a student has two tardies in a six-week period, he/she will be given 1 day of noon detention.  Repeated instances of tardiness will result in more severe disciplinary action.  Parents will be notified prior to the detention assignment.

  1. Early Dismissal/Absences:  Regular dismissal time for students is at 3:30.  If it is necessary to pick up your child prior to dismissal time, you must stop by the office and sign an early dismissal form and your child will then be called to the office.  Students are not allowed to be picked up in the classroom without notifying the office.  A student who leaves school early during the day is considered absent for that part of the day and must bring a note from his/her parent the following morning.  Students will not be released to any person other than their parent unless arrangements have been made through the principal’s office.  Students who are temporarily absent due to an appointment with a health care professional and commence classes or returns to school on the same day of the appointment with a physician’s note will not be counted absent for state attendance purposes.

  1. Breakfast Program – Students will be served breakfast in the classroom beginning this school year; therefore, they are to report directly to their classrooms in the morning.  Teachers will be in their classrooms by 7:30 a.m.  Breakfast will be served at approximately 7:40.  If students arrive late they will not have the opportunity to eat  breakfast.

  1. Drop off / Pick UpFor safety reasons, parents are asked to drop off / pick up students at the front of the elementary building on (4th street).  Please do not use BULLDOG LANE or BUS BARN area to drop off or pick up students. Please do not drop students off before 7:30 because there will be no supervision until 7:30.

  1. Parents Visiting:  If you have been contacted to volunteer, please come by the office and sign in prior to going into any classroom.  Parents wishing to conference with a teacher must call the office at 387-4329 to make an appointment.

  1. Important Forms:  It is very important that all registration forms are completely filled out and returned to your child’s teacher.  All students will receive free meals for breakfast and lunch; however, in order to stay in compliance with the state, parents of new students must complete a meal application.
